PolarSolar Intro
Hello all -
My wife and I own two gen 1 xBs; one is an '06 in polar white and the other is an '05 solar yellow release series 2.0. Both vehicles have approx. 100,000 miles on them. Solar xB is outfitted w/ aftermarket cruise control for long distance travel; cold air intake gives it more power for maintaining cruising speed than polar XB. Solar xB is frequently driven on 12 hour excursions fully laden. Polar xB used mostly around town and regionally for job-related travel. Both vehicles are used year round in upstate NY and are outfitted w/ snow tires.
We're finding there are several benefits from having 2 nearly identical vehicles: 1) no one gets jealous, 2) roof rack fits either one and 3) parts, maintenance and repair knowledge is simplified.
I mainly joined this forum to learn how to make my own repairs and document my high mileage experiences. Am hoping to get 200,000+ miles out of both vehicles.
