Dropped off the xB for its first ever service based on the months (got less than 3K miles on the xB).
Out of convenience, I brought her to a dealer that is closer to me to get to as opposed to where I bought it.
They have their own schedule which differs from Scion's schedule and they're not going to rotate the tires (that package costs $215.95!!)
I called 1-800-70-SCION and they said each service place is independently owned and that I should get the car somewhere else.
Not Happy and it is going to cost me $100.00 for nothing.

I want to make sure I don't breach my warranty.
This is what they are doing:
Maintenance Schedule A (3 month/ 3750 mi)
- Change Oil & Filter
- Lubricate doors & chassis
- Inspect all fluid levels
- adjust belts
- inspect engine settings
- adjust clutch (if equipped)
- inspect bolts, nuts on chassis
- 25 point safety inspection
$95.95 plus 8.625% sales tax

The first maintenance on my tC isn't until 5000 miles. Is the xB different for the schedule? NYCxB, is that for your dealer, or what is recommended for the xB?
Luckily I have paid scheduled maintenance for 3 years... I'm so glad I got that.

I picked up the car and it doesn't appear as if I even got the free oil change.
Some charges:
Windshield Washer Fluid : $2.25
SHP SHOP SUPPLIES: $2.99 (What the heck is this?)
Had a problem with the glove box from the time I bought it (would stay closed becaise of a pointy piece of rubber that came loose) and pointed this out to them (would fall under warranty) and they said I had to bring it to the dealer I bought it at.
I told you guys that is how it works here in NYC and I wish I trudged out to SI to get this done.
Man am I p*ssed!

You got ripped off. Big time.
You should NEVER pay for washer fluid. They buy in bulk and it should be free. You should be able to stop by a dealer ANYTIME and get a free refill. Trust me, they won't deny you something stupid like that.
Your shop supplies charge covers oil disposal, brakecleaner, towels, etc etc. Government mandates that charge... you will have it where ever you go.
Back to the dealer. Don't go back again. Since you paid it, you are pretty much out of luck. Call the service manager and tell him how dissatisfied you are. Tell him you will not bring your vehicle back, NOR will you recommend his facility to you friends or family. Tell him the cost was bull ____. It would only take an hour to do the stuff that they did and most of it should have been covered under a regluar oil change. For $100, you should have gotten Mobil 1 full syn oil with a TRD filter, StarBucks coffee, a shoe shine, and a free wash and vaccum.
Bottom line is you got screwed. I'm not sure why you agreed to pay the price to begin with. Next time, find someone in your area who owns a Scion and have them do the work if they are mechanically inclined. I would have done all that + tire rotate for a case of beer.
GL!

wow.. yeah i have to add my thoughts here too.. they are a bunch of losers, did they even charge you for sitting in their customer lounge and breathing the air? or is that a separate charge? idiots.. i would definitely spread the word around about how bad they are.. and report them to scion, call and get a different person.. enough complaints will affect their allocation of new scions..
this has got to be the worst i've ever heard of a dealer.. you learn your lesson, get it back to that other dealer to get your stuff done from now on.. yeah i'd be ____ed too if they pulled that on me.. for $2.25 I can get like 2 bottles of fluid from walmart!! that's insane.. anyway sorry it happened to you, but you know now to never go back there..
You should tell us all what dealer it is, so everyone can spread the word!!

I called Scion.
I emailed Scion.
The dealer is BAY RIDGE TOYOTA.
The service guy is ERNIE WAN.
Their toll free # is 1-888-214-0240
They are located at 6401 6th Avenue, Brooklyn, NY 11220
Website is: http://www.bayridgetoyota.com
I did write a review.
It has been posted yet (48 hour turnaround)
They have this thing all set up to ensure they charge you and Scion corporate is of no use as they DO NOT tell these dealers what to do (quote: "They are independent servicing").
So, after many months of saying to you guys you can't just bring it to a convenient dealer here in NYC without getting s/crewed it cost me over $100 to prove me right when I wish I was 100% wrong.

Got a response from Scion via email to call them again.
So, reluctantly did.
The guy on the other end of the phone ask me for the dealer name, who I dealt with, etc. asked for my name, VIN#, etc. and said that the dealer was clearly in the wrong and apologized for the experience.
They gave me a case # and said I would be receiving a call from a Scion Specialist on next steps and that BAY RIDGE TOYOTA was being flagged on a national level (not exactly sure what that means).
Explained the refusal of warranty service and how it was going to cost over $200 to rotate the tires, blah, blah, blah.
They appear to be taking a serious interest in this but I haven't any idea what this will mean for me personally.
Will update as I have more.

Here is the setup:
You drive the car in.
A guy greets you and takes your name and does a visual once over (looking for scratches, dents, etc.).
They take the car and you ask how long, they say wait for so and so.
The car is now driven away into the service area and about 15 minutes later you are wisked into an office right where you dropped the now driven away car.
He says it'll take a few hours and then proceeds to tell you they are going to do the warranty work.
What he is talking about and what you are talking about are 2 different things.
Next thing you know you are s/crewed out of $100.

1st warranty service.
3 free oil changes.
Rotate tires, check brakes as stated in the Scion log book.
No charge. None expected. Did not expect an estimate on what was to be FREE.
As much as I would like to completely blame myself, I can't.
The entire set up is to bilk Scion owners. End Of Story.

Rotating tires is NOT afree service , many dealerships lube shops do it for free but it is not as free service , more like a 50 dollar one. all that stuff costs money it is NOT warranty work. now being charged for wiper fluid is insanely stupid.
