im planning ot wax my car for the 1st time i had it a month should i polish it or wax it and also what product is good to use??? need some help lemme kno

 

I used to be a professional car detailer, untill i joined the military. And i used the new TURTLE WAX ICE! It has some kind of special new synthetic polymers, im not sure of the actual chemicals it contains.....so far all i know is that I havent felt anything like it, used correctly it is awsome. But you must let it dry for atleast 5 min to set into the paint.

 

But once you start waxing, continue to wax. Well wait what color is your car, that is the first thing i need to know!

 

Clay it first. Then use Meguiars NXT Tech Wax.

I tend to believe that claying never hurts.

 

I use Poorboys Natty's Blue. It is a carnauba wax. Carnauba will not last as long as a synthetic polymer based sealant, but I have noticed that it protects better.
Also, if I were you I would definetly invest in some microfiber towels.

If indeed you do have fallout on your car, i would clay bar it first before the initial wax. But do not rub too hard or you will scratch the paint, and also use alot of lubricant and change the face of the clay often.

But in actuality SCION should remove the fallout under warranty. Take it to them and let there detail guys do it for free. They should wax it after that. But when your ready to wax, the turtle wax ICE is good, any of the nano wax is good.

 

ZYMOL is good but leaves alot, alot of powder residue!

 

I have owned over 80 cars in my life. I have detailed them all. I love a clean car, and spend a lot of time keeping my cars nice. I have tried a lot of different products, both machine and hand applied. Through a lot of trial and error, this is what i swear by:
For oxydized and poor quality finishes, i use Meguires cleaners. For heavily oxysized, i use the "fine cut " cleaner. If the paint isn't too bad, i use the "deep crystal" paint cleaner.
For new cars, or used cars with a good finish, i use Zaino products. I always use a claybar, especially with a new car. I already clayed my box. Here is the procedure i use for the first time with a car i have just bought.
I wash the car using Dawn dish soap. Dawn will strip all the old wax off of the car, so i can start fresh. Then i clay the entire car, using the Z18 Zaino claybar . After i clay it, then i wash it again using Zaino car wash. After drying, i mix a batch of Zaino Z2 with the ZFX additive. Then i apply a coat of Z2, let it dry, and wipe it off. Then i apply a second coat, then a third. After the third, i give the car a quick once over with the Z6 spray detailer. Depending on the temperature, doing all of that takes form 2-5 hours.
Once all that has been done, i usually reapply a coat of Z2 every 6 weeks or so. Since we get nasty cold winter here, the last application is usally done in November. Come springtime, i start the cycle over again.
One of the great things about Zaino polish is the fact that it comes off easily, and doesnt leave white residue...especailly in the cracks and crevices. Plus, it has the deepest shine i have ever seen. I own a buffer, but i only use it now if i have to use the meguirs fine cut cleaner, otherwise i do the Zaino by hand.

i use meguiars three stage waxing. its pretty cheap works great and you can combine scratch x in between steps for any scratches you may have.

na you all got to try this resin glaze TR3 its great on oxidized paint, i got my tc used from kauai and these people never polished the car at all and this got it looking new.

 

I also have yet to wax my 06 tC..but I'm worried about adding swirls to it..right now the paint is flawless (besides 2 circular swirls left by the dealers' buffer) Any tips on applying/and removing the wax/polish?
