Default Aftermarket Belts?

I did a search and found a post where someone said there were no aftermarket belts for the xB..... does this still hold true? Will I be making a trip to the dealship for these?

I posted this in another forum, then realized this would probably be a better place to ask. Sorry Mods.

Matt

Dayco Numbers. . .
5030335 p/s Belt
5040478 Alt, w/p, a/c belt

I believe goodyear numbers are the same, sometimes the number is off by one size or so. You should be able to cross over the OEM belt numbers to be on the safe side.

thank you for the part numbers.

when I went to the webite to check it out, i noticed 2 engine types for the xB.
One was:

L4 1.5L 1497CC GAS FI N

and the other

L4 1.5L 1497CC GAS FI N 1NZFE

Just curious what the difference was. Was not sure if it was a way to determine auto vs. standard???

To be honest I don't think there is a difference. The numbers are the same so I have a feeling you'll be alright. I took a look at the site, and as far as I can tell they probably updated the old info and didn't get rid of it. Cause the engine liter sizes are correct and the second version of the numbers just gives the Model of the engine.

Thanks for the numbers. I changed them on a friends xB and Autozone got the numbers all wrong. We made several trips back and forth till we finally got the right belts.

No I have not used them personally on my B, but I have used them in the past on other cars. Very similar to goodyear belts, if I didn't know any better I'd say they were from the same manufacturer. As far as aftermarket belts though they are one of the top brands that I know of.

I'll get the Daycos when it's time for mine. I don't remember what the other brand or #s were Matt.

You know I checked with Gates and Goodyear, and both of them only have the alt belt. . . I thought that was strange.

When I was doing GothBoxes, we ended up using a tape measure to get the right length. The one that the book called for was about an inch and a half too short. I got tired of the on and off game real quick.
