Default air fresheners

Ok, I just got home and I just ran over a skunk and my whole car reeeks like ____. Can anyone reccommend a nice smelling air freshener that I could get. i dont care how much it costs, I just want it to smell good, preferably one that smells like vinilla, but it doesn't have to be. If someone could please refer one to me, what it looks/smells like, and where to get it that would be great.

I would recommend deoderizing the car, not air freshening it. What you would end up with is a mix of the skunk-skank and whatever fragrance you pick

Try placing some baking soda in the car to absorb the odors, and if possible, drive with your windows down as much as possible. Then as the stink fades, you can use an air freshener.

Air Spencer (Squash scent) from Japan....

The only air freshener I use in my cars. And no, it doesn't really smell like "squash". But it smells good.

I've seen those around, but never knew if they were any good or not. Might just pick one up!

Another good one I used to use was made by Bath & Body Works. It was the one you plugged in your cig lighter. Fresh linen was the ____!! But they don't make them anymore and now they have the ones you stick in your air vents. I hate those.

You can also use some FeBreeze for the skunk smell. And you may want to pick up some Baking soda. People use baking soda inside the fridge to absorb odors plus other 100 uses. It won't cure the smell but will help out. Don't pour the baking soda out onto the carpet, just open the box up and set it under your seat or something. They sell the baking soda in the boxes where you can tear a tab off of the box and there's a screen under it so that it will absorb and it won't spill out.

Does Pep Boys, AutoZone or Advance sell these? Or would I have to order them online?

You can find them on ebay, and I got the pic from overboost.com. Some Toyota dealers stock them too in the parts department.

I buy mine from Super Autobacs in CA when I go down there. I think they are the cheapest there. You buy the Air Spencer itself, and then just buy refills.

When you run over a skunk, the guts and stuff stick to the underside of your car, and the glands where the skunks keep their bad smelling stuff gets ripped open, and the fragrance kind of sticks to your car, and then permeates EVERYTHING! Its the worst smelling thing ever, it is so strong that you can smell if one is hit on the road from a mile or two away.

I've been using one of these in my New Beetle for a while. Did they stop making the pads for them? Fresh Linen is sooooo nice. I really wanted to use that in my xA when I pick it up.

Pity they don't last very long though.
