Alright, so Armor-all bad...
Which meguires product are you all talking about? Their NXT Tech Protect, or their Quick Interior Detailer?
Also, Armor-All is supposed to do more than just clean/shine, right? it's supposed to protect from...UV rays? and what else?
Do any of the suggested alternatives here (Mothers, Murphy's Oil Soap, Meguires, etc.) also provide this protection? is it even necessary? If not UV rays, what do we need to protect our dashes, plastics, etc. from?
(I just picked up my tC on Saturday. It's an 06 Nautical Blue.)

Our windshields and moonroof's have UV protected glass, so if no UV light is getting through there, why do you need to protect your dash from it? Skip the Armor-All, it does more harm than good.
Okay, so Armor-All for interiors is bad... the touchless carwash place I went to doesn't use it... But they do offer Armor-All treatments for the exterior (maybe is the wheels?). Is that stuff bad, too?

That reminds me when I used to live in Denver, Co. I owned a 4x4 Toyota truck with vinyl interior. For two weeks straight in 1990 the temps didn't get above 10 degrees F for the high. One morning I scurried out to warm the truck up (do you know how cold vinyl is in the winter?) and as I sat down on the vinyl, the whole seat cracked like a crisp cracker. One big split down the middle due to the extendend cold snap. That's when I moved back home to San Diego; no girl is worth this! (I went to Denver for a girl.)
Yup. Now I have a remote start to warm up the car prior to driving, IN SAN DIEGO! The place where it is a novelty more than anything. I use it to startle people when I catch them looking inside.
I used to use clear guard which was great, but I ran out the other day ( had the bottle for 5+yrs) they don't make it anymore
so I bought another turtle wax product some f21 spray??? it sucked, I bought the maguires and it works great on the leather and all the plastic trim
ok people. armorall is basically crack for your car. it'll look shiny and nice, but once you stop using it, your dash will look horirble. it dries and rots out the plastic/vinyl. trust me. the best thing to use is either meguiar's or mother's interior products. armorall is BAD news.
oh yes one more thing, dashes are NOT meant to be shiny. it creates glare in the windshield and WILL hide objects on the road (and possibly pedestrians) that you would've been able to see otherwise. there's a reason why the dash came the way it did.
