i ment the abs unit where the lines from the master cylinder come in to.

you can't bleed abs, you can bleed brakes
and you shouldn't be bleeding them unless you fudged up or froze a caliper or disconnected a brake like for no reason whatsoever
Not a bad thing to know how to do none the less. Perhaps what he was referring to was the VSC actuator. That you can bleed. I think that you will need a handheld tester to do this (or so says the xB Service Manual).
yea you need a hand held pump device thing
don't know what its called off the top of my head but in any case you have a toyota/scion
this isn't GM or Ford where you'll see all sorts of problems your just gonna see a CEL from time to time

but to bleed brakes
get 2 people, one in the car and one outside. Start from R/R of the car and get the person to pump the brakes 1-how many times you want and hold it, crack open the valve behind the backing plate and it will spit out if you have no air in the lines. once you got that going, proceed to do the same going L/R, R/F, L/F
make sure you have brake fluid in the resevoir though
