ARGH swirl marks
Well learned a lesson the hard way just washed my car for the first time (week old today) and used a chamois(sp?) to dry but dragged it instead of blotting and now i have like micro swirl marks when the sun hits it. There not too noticeable but if you look at the right angle you can see them and I know they are there.
So where do I go from here is there any chance of getting them out or am i screwed. Do you think I need to polish then wax, or could I get away with just a wax to maybe cover some of the swirls. I knew going in picking NB as a color I'd be asking for swirls just trying to minimize them. And for the 'Learn how to use a search' people, I did search and read all the swirl posts but posted anyway, if not for anything but a rant
to get rid of swirls, you need random orbit polisher, like a porter cable and a nice quality swirl remover.
but i doubt you will want to spend the money on that. go get yourself a tub of meguiars NXT tech wax. it will help fill the swirls decently. then get some carnuba wax (not cleaner wax, that will remove the fillers) i recommend meguiars carnuba. keep your car waxed and use good quality microfiber or compressed are to dry it off. also, get a microfiber wash mitt.
last thought - scions have a terrible cheap thin clearcoat, your not the only person with this problem. the paint is very soft. i've just learned to accept it and not cry over it anymore. hope this helps
