What is that awful product on my dash & doors? Is it rubber? What do you clean it with? Anything with silicon in it (like Son-of-a-Gun) will eventually make rubber crack open.

I would also like to know where I can find "dress-up items in my area for the xB. Right now I look like a milk truck. I would like to find decals, etc. to break up the stark white.

It's plastic designed not to cause reflections in the ample greenhouse of the box. Best to clean it is
a dampened microfiber cloth. It is NOT supposed to have any gloss.

Most of the 'Son-of-a-Gun' or 'Armor-All' type products will try to make it 'shine.' I don't know of
any 'matte finish' product, but there is a low-gloss Armor-All product that doesn't do too badly.

One thing that will help a lot is to PUT IN A CABIN AIR FILTER to keep the dust out.

Here's a pic of my dash with the low-gloss Armor-All product on it. I sprayed the microfiber cloth,
not the dash, and tried to keep it to the lightest possible amount on the dash. Takes care of all
those little scuff looking marks and makes the dash look like new. Lasts for about 6 months before
needing re-application (at least for me).

if your just worried about the dust go to your local parts store that sells auto paint, get a few tack rags, their a buck a peice or less, and can last several months if kept in a baggy, just wipe the dusty areas and it'll pick up the dust

Cabin air filter is mentioned in your owner's manual... there are also a NUMBER of topics here on ScionLife about cabin air filters - including making one's own for like 1/10th the cost of the ones the dealer sells.

and from over two years ago, the first discussion of this:

There are a LOT more topics on this, all findable with a SEARCH...

Good luck!

If you do buy one from the dealership, make sure you do not let them install it. I bought one for my wife's 4Runner a couple of months ago. I used to work at this dealership I went to and knew all of the people there. I told them I could put the filter in, but they insisted that they would take care of it. They tried to charge me $45 for something that would have taken me 2 minutes at most (I had done it before and it is easy). Then they wondered why I made a big deal out of it. I could not believe the nerve of them doing that to somebody they worked for several years. Then I started to worry about the customer's they do not know

like said earlier. a microfiber cloth or a feather duster will get rid of the dust.

im not a big fan or armor all or glossy plastic pieces cuse it reflects into the winshield and you wont be able to see anything.

soap and water will be ok i guess, just to keep some moisture in the plastic

Meguiar Quick interior detailer works good for me. Be carefrl to stay away from products that might dry it out but being plastic you may not have to worry a bout that .
