Default Seat

Hmmm I have had no problem with my seats making sounds... Have you checked to make sure everything is locked op on the seats correctly. I had an 85 gti in highschool with the same seat locks and if I didn't make sure they were secure all the way I would get a rattling sound. Or was that my brain slaming against my inner skull on hard turns. I miss that car Mac.struts all around, so much fun. I hope some af that information helps I'll look around on mine more and see of there is anything else that may cause a rattle back there and let you know.

All I know is that I already took it to the Dealer once for the seat rattle. And if they don't fix it in 3 more attempts. CA state law calls the car a lemon.. and I get a new xB!!!!!

Actually lemon law only applies to defects that are detrimental to the safe operation of the car. It doesn't apply to seat rattling.

Here's another thing you guys might want to check: lift up the spare tire cover and check to make sure the jack crank and other little tidbits down there are securely snapped into place on their little brackets. Sometimes they can work their way loose and then rattle around when you drive over little bumps in the road... So make sure to check that out!!

Default Rattle

I hear the same rattling noise. I can't figure out where its coming from. I barely noticed it, 500 miles ago. My car has about 3600 miles. That sucks and its annoying.

I in the car business and I have seen the lemon work wonders. Trust me it works. I have the 2 page .pdf printed out just in case the dealership wants to debate. I don't have it in front of me, but it's something like.... they have to fix in 4 tries, 12,000 miles or 1 year. and it has to be reported.

i am also having this problem, but i had a 91 jetta and currently have a 83 GTi and a 79 rabbit, so i am kinda used to rattling noises among other noises. I just turn the radio up to drown the noises out. Thats my ghetto mechanics hard at work. :D w00t

My back seat just started rattling too. Double checked everything: seat belts clipped, put the seat down and put it back up.
hmmmm, what to do.

Theres a metal wire behind the back seat.... if you guys get some foam padding tape you can place it under the wire.... if you flip the seats down and pull off the 3 tabs that hold the fabric down to the seat backing you can fix it your self.

Inazuma wrote a well detailed description and added pictures to the rattling problem. this should be the solution.

Good looking out, i was just going to look for this thread. I hope they have all the little rattles out by the time the RS1 hits the dealers lots. To wait all this time, and get a rattle box, i hope not, although, that TSB was very informative.
