And about the transmission, that sucks! But at least it will be covered under warranty. hope you dont have a short shift kit...

Sorry to hear about that, I know exactly what you are going through. At this very moment, my transmission is being replaced in my tC. What brought this on was, I would hear a grinding noise when I shifted from 1st to 2nd gear. It started to get worse, so I took it to the dealership and they told me there was a problem with the transmission and they would have to replace it. It makes you feel all warm and fuzzy knowing that your brand new car needs a new transmission!!!
Sorry again and good luck!!!

a lot times when a manual tranny is used it is user error. just think about when the wrx was released and people were complaining about the tranny in that car. i guess it couldn't of been all the new drivers to awd that didn't know what they were doing.
i would first make sure you are pushing the clutch in all the way. people like to they are, but most of the time they don't. second make sure you have the rpms up to the proper rpm.

if im goin like 3mph and im in neutral and try to put it in first, it grinds like crazy. also it grinds when im sitting still (not all the time but quite often). i test drove a new tc last thursday and it had no problems at all downshifting/shifting to first at low speeds. goin to the dealership today, wish me luck. btw, i dont use my gears to slow me down, i use the brakes
