i've tried a few clay bars but wound up really liking mother's clay. its just the right consistency and density for me.

just go to autozone, pepboys, or walmart for this stuff

Your vehicle being a month old it shoudlnt really need a clay baring , I used mothers clay bar (great stuff) , If you wash your vehicle and after its dry and CLEAN , if the paint feels rough to you and not smooth like glass then you need to clay bar . As for polish I was using Mequiers Gold Class , But have recently switched to Eagle One's Nano wax , I dont know if the nano technology really works and to be honest I dont care LOL leaves a nice deep shine to the paint , Only draw back is , make sure you use a constant consitancy when applying it to the paint , If you put it on to thick it will be a pain to remove

also adding a spray of quick detailer every now and then to the microfiber you rubb the wax off with helps alot.

are you trying to remove swirl marks with the polish or something? don't break something trying to fix it!

go to a body shop supply store for your clay bar. They sell them in various grades. The bar you get there will be about as much $$ wise as the 'kit with spray' you get at a regular autoparts store, but the bar is twice as big from the body shop supply house. Any detail spray can be used for a clay bar lubricant. You only need to do your car once a year and then follow it with a good wax. No need for polish/swiorl removers unless you, umm, well have swirls and fine scratches.

used the Eagle 1 nanowax after claybaring the 1999 mini van this weekend. WOW.....

^^^^ This dude has a few good points.

Although I have to add, if you live by a highway, railroad tracks
or drive the highway regularly, AND/OR don't have a nice cozy
garage to park your car in, then you will find yourself needing
to clay more often.

I have to clay once a month to get the road debre and imbeded
bug guts off my front bumper and front lip. My box is only 3
months old.

As stated, Polish is for hiding/removing scratches and swirls.
Hopefully you don't have any of those yet (though I had plenty
straight from the dealer).

well my car is about a month and 10 days old so i guess i wont clay it. I bought that eagleone nano polish/wax stuff yesterday, should i use that as my wax or should i not use it at all ? Should i just get a bottle of zaino wax and put that on since i dont really have swirls/ect.

wash and then wax? OR wash ---nanowax ----- zaino?

the only way to tell if you need to clay is to wash and dry your car. Feel the surface, is it smooth as glass? If not, then you need to clay.... it doesn't matter how old your car is....and it's not going to hurt the paint to do it more than once a year.....I wash, dry, clay, clean, polish, and wax my car about every 1-2 months....other than that, it's just a quick wash....

you don't need to top Z-2 pro, you can use Z-8 if you want to. If it were me and you are going to use Z-2Pro then I would return the Eagle One

I clayed my car a week after it came off the dealer lot. The clay picked up more residue than I anticipated, so I was happy i did it. Followed that up with a quick polish (meguires) and then finished off with meguires NXT. I would recommend a claying if even the car is new. I figured that even if its new, it sat on a ship for a while and then the dealer lot. By the way, I like the NXT, quick and looks good. Also check out Autopia.org for some great detailing info. Good luck.

oh yeah, I use the detail spray too. I use it after a regular wash. Spray on wet, then dry. Easy easy easy.
