The Axxis brake pads have more surface coverage than the stock pads. You'll get much better performance and dependability with them.

It's definitely recommendable :D

I got some Pro ACT by Akebono and they are much more dependable then the stock brake pads. I definately recommend replacing the OEM pads with pads that have a larger surface area.

On my last car I put on ceramic brake pads.

They last longer and put our less dust.

Don't remember the brand.

There are trade-offs with every brake pad out there. Ones that are great for high heat applications like the track will often be sub-par for normal driving conditions. For example, if you are on a long road trip and have been driving on the highway for several hours without using the brakes they will be cold. So, if you had put in some super high-end pads they may actually increase stopping distance and would be detrimental if you have to make an emergence stop in this situations. I'm not sure of what's out there for the xB / xA, but I'd make sure they are suited for the type of driving you plan on doing.

I've changed out my front brake pads already on my car & turned the rotors, its not hard to change them but it could get difficult if you dont have the right tools. All your gonna need is a 14 socket, a 14 open end wrench & either a big adjustable wrench or a caliper tool to push the piston back into the caliper. Make sure you use the shims off the stock pad, its to prevent squeeling from the brake pad shifting in the caliper. Im running a prototype brake pad from an oversears company that my shop is currently working with that gives you more contact surface w/ the rotor, less brake dust, short stopping distance, & doesnt heat up your rotors under servere braking conditions. if you want to know just p.m. or visit out website & inquire about them. A shipment of these brake pads are coming @ the end of this month.

Yea, rotora makes slotted & cross drilled/slotted rotors. Wilwood have a brake kit w/ cross drilled rorors as well.

Better brakes...sounds good to me, I'm starting to hear squeals every now and then. I hate that brake dust, too, it was making me want to get brake dust covers or something.

Can't wait to hear how it works out for you...

I know this post is about brakes pads but I had a question about the rotor. Does anyone know how long these usually last, also how long do the pads usually last for mostly city driving.

Good deal. Carbon Metallics last shorter and put our MORE dust. I have to say, I did like their performance on my old car.

With normal wear most rotors can be turned about 3 times. If you can get the parts yourself. Midas gets parts for about 10.00-50 and charges you 45-170 each , just a lil help to anyone who's handy out there. A regular person can get the parts for about 10-30% more than a shop so.. alot of money can be saved. ( I hated gouging people when I was a service writer there)
How many times the rotors can be turned depends upon pads , driving style , debris , and if the owner brings the car in before the pads start gouging into the rotors. oh and Hot spots from hard , frequent stop and go kills rotors.
