Hi, everyone. I'm someone who is pretty ignorant about car repair but who wants to learn more.

I have a 2006 Scion xA, and my heat and air conditioning no longer work. The last time I had my oil changed, the mechanic said he thought the issue was the blower, since the fuses were fine.

I haven't taken it back for an estimate yet, because I want to be able to discuss it intelligently so that I don't get taken advantage of. I'm out of work right now, so my budget is extremely tight. I also want to know if there is anything I can try to do myself.
