bugs on front window?
Hi.
I new to this. just got my 05 silver XB a month ago.
It doesn't even have a name yet.
I'm looking for an unusal way to make my car stand out from lthe crowds. Know fo\\of where i can find graphixsthat aren't flames or skulls. Maybe flowers or butter flies, etc. what can I say I'm a gramma.
I commute from Salinas to Capitola.
What, if any thing can be done about the bugs on the front window.
I never seen many bugs collect so fast.
Seems like I need to rewash the windows with in 1/2 hour after doing them.

unfortunately the windshield is like a wall for bugs to hit, Rain-X does help but it will always hit. I drive on a backroad once in a while and in 5 minutes, Ive hit about 10 bugs. SO keep washing.

Rain-X (the product in particular mentioned) is a window treatment. You apply it to a clean window and it forms a protective layer that repels rain.
Rain-X does though make windshield wiper fluid.. but i don't know what effect, if any, if the bugs are already on the window.

I got a bug/rock deflector (mine is clear) you can get it tinted.
I'm in Flroida, and as you might know - Mosquito Alley. The Deflector ........ I say keeps about 80% of the bugs off the windshield, or high up out of the drivers line of sight.
I do notice more up on the lip of the rood above the windshield. Waxing and Rain-X makes them easier to clean off botht the glass and the paint

"love bug" season coming up, will be put to a real test then

Treating the windshield with Rain-X is a great idea, but it wears off reasonably quickly (a few weeks for a greatly diminished effect for me.) Now when I use the Rain-X wiper fluid in conjunction with a treated windshield, it greatly, greatly increases that timeframe.
Using the wiper fluid on an untreated windshield will help with the Rain-X effect, but will never achieve the results as that of a treated windshield PLUS the wiper fluid. Rain-X makes a couple varieties of the wiper fluid stuff, one of which is a bug cleaner, which I run whenever it is not below freezing. It is pink in color.
