heres a question about clay barring . Is it possible to use the clay bar on windows ? . I have something on my drivers window that doesnt want to come off . It looks like overspray and its not smooth but a different texture of the glass . and it isnt coming off . So i guess the question is . Is it ok to clay bar the glass?

From what i read clay bars ARE NOT for scratches or swirl marks, but for paint embeds and contaminents.

I wash my car weekly, or bi-weekly. I've had it just over a month. about 2 weeks ago, i noticed alot of very rough small black dots all over my finish. when i clayed my hood and front it got rid of most of these defects. I am very careful and attentive when i wash my car. I use the eagle one car wash a microfiber sponge and an absorber car shammy. I really dont know how my paint got like this, the car is brand new. I do alot of hwy driving and we have alot of industry here in b.r., so i'm just trying to take care of my paint early before it turns to poopie later on.
Ahh, the mysterious black dots. i've never had them on my paint, but I have them on my back window every time I wash my car. If only I knew what the hell it was.

I'm no expert but I heard that claybarring too often strips your clear coat off, which is bad.

you should only have to use clay like 2 times a year
goto a harley store and buy s100 gloss enhansing paint cleanser and use that after claying then wax over it
you wont beleive the slickness, gloss and depth you get then wax over that to protect it

ok.....clay bar isn't going to strip clear coat unless you use it every other day.....I usually just feel my paint after a fresh wash to see if it is like glass.....if it isn't, time to clay.....

Clay isn't going to cause swirl marks or scratches unless you don't use it properly......the reason ppl say it does cause scratches is because it will lift micro-particles from your paint that will build up on the clay....then if you don't knead and fold it, it will be dragged across the rest of the car....
