Default Car waxing: are you supposed to wax the lights?

Are you supposed to wax the head and tail lights? Or do you just use something like Meguiar's PlastX ?

I use wax on the headlights, and all the windows on the car. Rain just blows right off, making everything easier to see out of, and in the case of the headlights, easier visible on the road.

Nothing bad happens when putting wax on headlights, tail lights, etc. Heck, I use PlastX and wax after it.

PlastiX is fine. It's nice to remove any kind of small scratches or oxidation as well. Duragloss makes a product like that also..

I know synthetic sealant/waxes are ok for headlights and taillights also.

I do the same. People think I'm crazy for putting wax on my glass, but it works.

Not true, over time you will see a huge difference between not doing anything but washing them vs using wax.

Personally for the windows, every 2-3 months i use rainx, it keeps the rain beeding off the windows while also giving them the "new" look. For headlights and tail lights, i don't use wax simply because i chose not to. Plastx works great, i would recommend using that every time you wax (Generally every 2-3 months, unless your showing your car in competition or your car is outside 100% out of the year, its pointless to wax more imo)

Don't use wax on headlights. What you should be using is a product called 303 Aerospace Protectant. You can find it in almost any Marine / Boating store.

It blocks the UV light that causes the lenses to fog up and crack. Look at any mid 90's sedan w/ plastic headlights and you'll know what I'm talking about.

I use it on the headlights, taillights, turn signals and rear 3rd brake light.

google it.

Well, just about all paint protection products contain UV protection of some sort, not to mention polycarbonate is naturally a UV absorber,so you're safe for some time. 303 though I think has a lot more UV protection so you're definitely right about that.

The nice thing about headlights and trim and all of the non-paint stuff is that you can use almost any protectant on them and it'll work.

I use Collinite 476S on my windows and headlights, TW ICE on my trim.
