Changing Oil
I do my own oil changes every 2,500 miles, and am wondering how people do their own oil changes on an xB.
It looks like the front of the car needs to be raised to get a drain pan under it, yet the front skirt is quite low and might scrape on the usual ramps, and the usual ramps also lift much higher than is needed. What are people using for ramps? A stack of a few 2x12s with bevelled ends?
I can touch the oil filter by reaching under the car, but the sheet metal belly pan prevents me from getting a good grip on the filter to unscrew it. How is the filter best removed? Does the belly pan need to come off to get at the filter, or can it be cut away some to help the access?

I have two concrete slabs, they are like stepping stones for the lawn or whatever and i drive up on them then i change the oil. If the oil filter is to hard to get of you can always go to your local auto store and buy a oil filter wrench.
I have changed mine by driving on one 2x12.
I have done it without the 2x12, but it was real tight since I am lowered 1.75"
I quit using my floor jack to raise the vehicle as it is not needed with the 2x12.
Walmart will never touch my car.
Moved to Maintenance.

If you are stock height, you done even need to raise the box AFTER you take the filter off the first time...I think they use an impact wrench on the filter at the factory. Its nice to crawl underthere once to see how things are laid out.
That said, I usually use the jack AND a JACK STAND (!!) to hold the box up. Old habits die hard.
