my cheack engine light came on yesterday and i have no clue why. the only thing ive done is install trd springs but that was a month and a half ago. has anyone else had theirs turn on before and taken care of it?

 

take it into the dealer...i wouldn't try to mess with it.

 

is it near 4500-5000 miles? if so, read your manual. it will tell you why.

are you sure it is the "check engine light" some people mistake the CEL for the maintain light. if it is the maintainance light, no biggie, just due for an oil change if it is the CEL, take it to the dealership and have it looked at

 

yea it was the maintenance required light.....i had just hit 5000 miles but i changed my oil at 3000, but now i know that scions change the oil at 5000, but yea i read the manual and u have to reset it and it went away. but thanks for the help guys

 

my car just did the same thing. the check engine light came on first. then it almost overheated. now i find out from toyota that the radiator split. might wanna get it checked out just in case.

 

I had my lights come on at around 4000 miles. I unhooked my battery for about a minute or two and the lights turned off. I think it just reset the computer. everything works fine.

and not to be an ___ but if you dont know what your doing take it to the dealer. it could be covered and theyll charge you nothing
