So yea, I got my TC comin in like a week. So I just need some tips on what to use when cleaning the interior. Whats the best stuff? It doesnt seem like amoral would do right on the texture of the dash. Any tips? Thanks

I think the dash is a wipe down only type of material. You prolly wont need armor-all. I would suggest one of those detailing burshes to get dust out of those hard to reach places.

Other than that, a moist rag ought to catch most of the dust.

For the windows, use some sort of window cleaner (non-ammonia) and newspapers to wipe it down with, yes newspapers! they work the best.

But really, i'd worry about your exterior paint more than the interior... its the part that'll get most of the abuse.... It'd be a good idea to put a coat or two of wax on it.

Yeah put a coat or two of wax on it. Also for the interior I just use a rag with water on it. For the glass use non ammonia, car wash soap use meguiars gold, wax use meguiars gold paste, next time do a search. This has been brought up before. For tire shine use meguiars hot shine or something like that.Works like a charm.

 

Wax the painted part of the dash. It scratches easily otherwise.

Use Folex brand carpet cleaner on the seats and carpet--works great, won't leave any residue on your seats. I used it to remove house paint when I accidentally put my hand down on the seat reaching in my car to grab something.

Use a detailing Foam on the dash--not a spray, it's like shaving cream--if you just want it clean without a 'greasy' shine.

Invisible Glass glass cleaner works great too. Forget wasting wads of paper towels, buy yourself a couple of microfiber towels to wipe your glass down with.

 

I would definately NOT use armor-all on the dash...It appears as though they designed the dash so it didn't reflect too much back on the windshield.

 

Wish there was an easier way to clean the seats as well.. other than breaking out the shop vac each time. They seem to be like mini-mesh magnets for dust and ash and all sorts of other goodies...

 

The Armor-All cleaning wipes (in the purple container) are great for the interior. It doesn't have the glossing agent and leaves no residue behind. I use it on everything (dash, seat, console, steering wheel....anything in the interior).

 

DON"T USE ARMORALL ON THE DASH..........the wipes leave lint on everything they touch.......just get some microfiber towels.......a lightly damp one works wonders on the dash and all other plastic trim pieces inside.....you can also use them for buffing, glass, rims, everything!!!....

 

read your owner's manual when you get one and search.....this has been discussed numerous times.

 

I must be very lucky. I've gone through two containers worth of the wipes and lint has never been a problem.

 

the thing i dont like about AmorAll and Meguiars and those types of interior wipes is that with time, it dries out your dash. thats from my experience, maybe newer ones dont do that anymore?

 

I haven't experienced anything like that with the wipes I'm talking about. I've used them at least every other week on my car since August, and I've been nothing but extremely happy.

(And this comes from a neat freak with his car. I've Zaino'd my car around 10 times since I bought it.) :D
