curious about maintainance service and modded cars
something interesting came up when i was talking to my friend. some time ago, he put a cold air intake in his celica. i doubt it has warranty since he got it used. well, something was wrong with his engine, so he brought it to a toyota dealership (i don't know which) to check it out. they told him that they can't work on his car unless he puts back the stock air. now, that got me confused, cause i go to a dealership for servicing and i've seen modded cars go through there every once in a while. i don't see why a dealership would refuse business to a modded toyota. i know they service other makes of cars, would they refuse to service those too if they were modded? i'm assuming this is isolated to that one dealership. i myself don't have any mods on my car. can anyone help clarify?
