De-Badging Scion Emblem

i was planning to paint my scion emblem gunmetal instead of the stock silver color. i was wondering how do you safely take out the emblem and put it back on?? what should i use to make the emblem stick back on??

hair dryer (i did mine on a really hot day) n dental floss. and use 3m outdoor double sided tape for replacement.
