I used to do this in my old Mazda cuz it did have an oil leak and i had to check to make sure there was enough oil in it, but I havent done it in my xB all but maybe twice and it was fine when i did check it. So the question I have is do you really have to check it periodically? Let me know

 

I dont know....do you brush your teeth on a regular basis? I mean, you really dont have too, right? Its such a hassle and all...taking up a whole 2 minutes of your life....and dont even get me started on tire pressure.....I mean, if the car drives, it must be OK, right?

Anyway, its your car. If you want to take care of it and keep an eye out for any possible issues, do it. If you want to weld the hood shut, do it.

 

yes. i check my oil.

every time i fill up, I pop my hood and check fluids and tire pressure/condition while the gas pumps

 

Every 250 miles I check my tire pressure, oil, and transmission fluid.

yup, about every time or every other time I wash the car I'll check the oil level, and oil condition (excessively dirty? weird color? I'll even take a whiff to see if there are any weird smells) as well as a quick check of everything else.

Tire pressure is also important!

I did in the beginning but it was always full so I only check it like every 1K or so. If it were anything but a Toyota product then maybe every fill up.

 

I plan to start checking it more after mine is out of warranty... which will be very soon.

 

to be quite honest, i should be cheking my oil. but i have not. it's good practice to be checking. though and i will make it a habit for me next time i fill up at least.

wow, wish i was like all of you, im guilty of not doing it either . . .its really, really, REALLY bad to say, but i havent gotten a oil change for 13,000 miles!!! well not for any longr got my oil change today, but i am going to make it a constant thing, whenever i fill up my gas that is...

^LOL. i check oil regularly every 3 weeks. my old car burned oil like crazy, so its an old habit.
