so i change my oil myself on the tc for the first time i already used the first 2 free maintenance service and they was asking around 300 for the third. i change the oil to mobile 1 syntetic 0w 20 and i used 4 bottles i think that 4quarts. my question is did i use enough cause i have 1 more bottle and also did i use the right oil cause somewhere here i read some people use 5 w30 or 5w 20 wats the difference

The numbers relate to the oils viscosity. Lower the number the thinner the oil.

 

you have a manual... read it. 4 qts.

and 5w20 would be the standard.

I would suggest running 5w 20 seeing as your in HI, you probably don't get that cold of winters there. But I wouldn't worry about it just change it at your next oil change. And 4 quarts only, check your oil level with your dipstick if you feel you didn't put enough in.

I know that the 05's use 10w-30, it says on the oil cap, and in the manual. Dont mean to threadjack, but what oil filter did you use? Im gonna change my own oil this weekend but dont know which filter to use, there was a ton to choose from when i went to the store.

yes..

and OEM Toyota filters... imo, are the best to use.

OEM is not the best but they are good quality filers. I believe one of the best if not the best is AMSOIL EaO filters.

 

why 07 have to use 0w-20 ? it very expensive in poland. Can I use mobile 1 synt 5w-30 ? its she same engine as 05-06 tc !

 

They arent exactly the same, i believe the 07's have a very small amount more of compression, but the 0w will make it easier to start up on very cold days. I would recommend the 5w-20 if you absolutly want to use the higher weight oil, But Id say get it as close to factory recommended specs as possible.

 

the "w" stands for winter not weight
