Default Free oil changes at local dealer or not?

I just want to know if anyone else has dealt with this. First off, I bought my TC about a month ago from Beechmont Toyota in Cincinnati, OH from which I had located the dealership online, in which we originally went looking for this convertible 04 VW bug. That car sold the nite before we got there in OH. No problems whatsoever with the dealership. Friendly, and helpful to say the least in regards to my salesmen. I've read that the 3 free oil changes' policy is good at any Scion local dealer. Well, I live in IN and wondering if I can take my car to my local dealership instead of driving to OH which is about a hour away from my residence. My dealer at OH where I purchased the Scion said that the oil changes are complimentary at their dealership in OH. Now once again, I had read that these oil changes are good at any Toyota/Scion dealership. Basically, to sum it up.........is this something that I need to talk my salesmen about from OH or should I simply just contact my local dealer here in IN and go from there? Anyone else had this issue?

I bought my tc about 40 miles away from where i live, then on my first oil change i just went up to my local dealer and they asked me if I wanted to use one of the free oil changes per scion warranty, i had forgotten about it and i was like, do i get free oil changes? lol
i would just go to my local scion dealer and tell them you want to use one of the free oil changes that scion promised you driving 1 hour just for an oil change

I read that in my Scion warranty, as well a couple of Scion sites online. Thanks for your help and I shouldn't have any problems getting those free oil changes. Driving that far away is a bit "cukoo for cocoa puffs" from my stand. Once again thanks for your response.

The three 'free' oil changes are actually three prepaid oil changes available at any Scion or Toyota dealer during the first 36,000 miles. You bought 'em when you bought the car.

Should be info on that in the last few pages of your manual...

Thanks, I figured that I could but I just wanted to be sure. Someone posted on here from TX said the dealer told him changes for life. I didn't hear that from my dealer, but that would be sweet!

I won't be letting Toyota change my oil. I'll only do it myself.

You messing up on a oilchange, and something going wrong = you shelling out your own cash to fix your car.

Dealership messing up your car = they fix it on their dime.

I take my tC to the dealhership and let them handle the proccess. I just take them the oil i want used, Mobil 1, and they do the rest.

lol, I used to work as a tech. I also have a car lift in my garage as well as a vast assortment of Snap-on tools. I don't think I'll be screwing up a simple oil change.

Not doubting you can do it. Just saying if you do manage to forget reinstalling some misc part, and something does happen to go wrong. That's what i was getting at. If you used to be a tech, why do you doubt them so much?

When you break anything down step by step, evertying is simple. No single sole on this Earth is perfect though. Thats what im getting at. If something can go wrong, eventually it will go wrong. Im a DIY kinda person myself, but I just like being able to take advantage of the freebys scion is so kind to give. < It's my first new car. All of my previous vehicles I did all maintanence myself.

Um... What gasket you refering to??? Oil filters come with new gasket. Drain plug doesn't need new gasket. And I hope your not talking about the oil pan gasket. LOL
