FYI on dealer installed cold air induction system.
I am the guy whos car was broken into and the dealership wouldnt stand behind the security systems they installed and I had to go all the way to the Vice President of Corporate Scion to get resolution.
Get this, I like to wash my engine compartment about every 2-3 weeks. I hadnt done it since I got it, was being lazy I guess. So I took it to one of those self wash places, sprayed my engine down and wiped it down as much as I could. Went home and few hours later went to the store. Dash lights came on, the Check Engine, the Skid Control and Traction Control.
So I open the hood and the cold air induction system was completely apart in the two areas where the rubber and the clamps are, they had forgotten to tighten them and I was getting an emmision error.
Thank god for this board, I reinserted, retightened and then disconnected the positive on the battery and whoooo hoooo it was back to new. NEVER I REPEAT NEVER HAVE ANY WORK DONE AT TOYOTA OF ESCONDIDO. Its just a warning.
Can you believe that after all Ive been through, thank god Boxy is OK

What resolution did you get on the alarm?
washed it and the answer is no and I should not have to, am I suppose to pull over and cover something up when it is raining outside or I go through a puddle. No is the answer to that.
High pressure and electrical connections= not a good idea! driving through rain wont force water into connections like a pressure washer will. But it is BS waht the dealer did with your intake,...
why would u wanna wash your engine bay so often?
dealer may have been stupid,.... but if i sold u a car
and u hosed off ur engine(weeks after u got it)...
i'd turn the other cheek if u asked for some kinda help/reinburstment.
