Default HELP!!! I have to park by the sprinklers!!!

How do I avoid getting sprayed by the sprinklers every morning?? It's a big problem because I really like to keep my car as clean as possible!! Help!! Also, I heard that in some places, the water coming from them has an acid like stuff in it that deteriorates your paint after time!!

Can't park in the garage, that's where the Lexus and Corvette sleep.

My poor car......

Or is there any kind of wax that I could use that would make the water bead off?? I've tried Meguires tech wax....doesn't work for that, but works wonderfully to make it shiney....I'm thinking of getting that super expensive Zymol wax.....what do you think??

Meguiars NXT beads up just fine and I have pictures to prove it: https://www.scionlife.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=127196

Wax will help the water stream off the vertical panels on your car, but you will still get spots, especially on the horizontal panels. The water will still bead up on them, but will not stream off. Have you considered a car cover?

Haha, ya right. An all black Vette sitting outside....dust loves her!!

Ya, I've thought about a car cover, but do they have one that is first of all made for an xB, and second of all doesn't scratch my car?

Yes, Scion makes one specifically for the xB. I don't know about the scratches.

FJ is at another house.....FJ sleeps outside of that house....but when I sleep at that house, my car is in the middle of the massive driveway...I'm talking about when I have to park at my daddy's house over night, which has been alot recently. My dad's girlfriend has a new Lexus IS......

And how much do the car covers usually run at the dealership.....then minus 20%....? (Shop discount....I love it!!)

The thing with sprinkler water is that it isn't the water per se that's the problem... its all the other crap in it, since its just "reclaimed" water.

That's why it is so much more dangerous to unprotected paint than just regular water which would leave regular water spots.

Other than to get a new parking spot ( ) your only solution is to wash, clay the entire side every week, and rewax it, too.

I have to park near the sprinkers too and I hate it. Im going to look into getting something to deflect the water as it comes out of the sprinkler. Maybe a flat piece of metal or plastic on a stake. I park on the street and the sprinklers are right on the opposite side of the curb so I was planning on sticking something inbetween the curb and sprinkler. I hope its gonna work.

so if it isnt every night, why not grab a few buckets and cover up the sprinklers that are close to your car so they wont spray on it?

I have the same problem in my parking lot. Change your spot, and buy some of this.

Ya, I'll check that stuff out. And I park there about every other night. So that's the thing with the buckets....
