Default Help P2102

P2102: Throttle Actuator Control Motor Circuit (Shorted Low). Sooooo what does that mean?? In the morning when its cold i have no control over the gas. Nothing happens when i hit the gas and it idols a little ruff. After I looked under the hood like a monkey doing a math problem, I restarted my car (now some what worm) and everything was normal. this has happened for two mornings now so i am starting to get a little scared. I dont want to bring it to a stealership if i can fix it myself but I have no idea what i need to replace. anyone have any ideas.[/img]

That is interesting. I just had the same thing happened to my car this past Saturday. My car stalled after made my first turn shortly after I left my house. The check engine light came on. I was able to restart my car and drive. Since the check enginer light was on, I took it to the dealership and got rip off for $97 and found out the error code. I got P2103 though (shorted high). The dealership said they cleared it and see if it would come back within the next 100 miles. If it does, they can try to repair it for $1100!! They didn't sound like they knew what was going on either. I drove for 150 miles since then and had been fine.
I had been looking online for any clues but none so far. Your post is the closest. Hope someone eventually stumbles on this and help us out.

is your car still under warranty?? mine is not but i think this would be a warranty thing if yours is. If your car is lower miles i would call toyota directly and tell them what the dealer did / said and see what they say. I think I am going to look into getting some parts that might fix it from a junk yard to see if i can figure it out. I will def keep you posted.
By the way i took my car out once it was running and flogged the s out of it and no problems since! I love toyotas
But if anyone has any ideas i am still open to suggestions.
thanks

Well, my car is way over the warranty. I have 76k miles on it. It was a first generation car that I waited for 3 months to get. I love my car! A great car. Just that now after all these miles piled on, it started to need works on. But this stalling really scared me, especially I have an auto. It shouldn't stall. And the worst part was that the power steering was gone right after that happened.
