Default HELP PLEASE

I painted my SCION emblem and when I went to reinstall it I used 3M Plastic and Emblem Adhesive. I let it dry for like 12 hours and when I went back to check somehow I chipped the paint off during installation. So I went about removing it. I used a little heat from the hair dryer only about 1 minutes worth. It came off easily. When I looked at the car I saw what I believe was residue and I went about rubbing it with my finger. Suddenly it turned white. ACK! It wasnt residue but it was actually the plastic panel and paint that had bubbled up and when I rubbed it the plastic rubbed off too. Now I have a pitted panel. I called 3M and told them about my situation they said they were mailing me a self addressed envelope and told me to take a picture of what happened and to mail it to them with the remainder of the Adhesive. And to go get some estimates for repairs. Hopefully they find it to be their fault and fix my car. Just giving everyones a heads up and what do you guys think?

I dont think it was my use of the hair dryer because the factory glue was worse to get off it took me and my little brother more time and more heat to take that off. You think some how the 3M glue interacted with the heat and just ate up my car? Thanks. Me so sad.
