today i was washing my car, and i found a lot of small white paint splash marks all over the front side and the passenger side skirt of my car...i tried using alcohol...which is close to useless on removing those paint marks, unless i scrub it real hard, some will come off.

Anyone know what i can use to remove those paint? Any useful comment will be welcome thank you.

 

Just get some goo gone.. the yellow (citrus-smelling) liquid. I used some on my car yesterday to get some annoying paint from the fresh white lines just painted in the road. came off real quick. should work just fine.

 

i tried that as well...did you let it sink sit there for a while be you wipe it off? or just spray and wipe

 

A claybar should remove that and just about any other contaminants on your paint. You'll want to apply a coat of wax after you clay, but your car will look spankin fresh

A claybar is an item that is used to remove contaminants from your paint. You can get them from any Autozone/Pep boys type car parts store. It is actually *good* for your car, so no, it will not hurt your car at all, provided you follow the directions.

I had a can of construction orange spray paint get on my car. The can dropped out of the back of a construction truck, top broke off, and sprayed my car. I have tried using a clay bar and it did nothing. Are there any other recommendations for removing paint?

 

spray paint and street paint are two different things...i dont think a claybar will remove spray. good cleaner wax might though. if that doesnt, then maybe take it to a paint/detailing shop, they might be able to help you.

 

I have had very good luck with nail polish remover. Its amazing how it removes everything BUT the OE paint. Make sure to reapply wax/polish

 

Acetone will remove the spray paint plus your car paint. I guess you can use it if you are desprate but I dont recommend it. Everytime I see a paint spot I use my nail and I can usually remove it.

 

try going down to a paint store, like sherwin williams, they have a solvent called "goo gone", or something like that. it worked well for some exterior paint overspray back in the day. try that, but ask the employees just to make sure it won't hurt your car's paint.

 

Go to your neighborhood Sherwin-Williams. Ask for a product called "Painter's Pal," I believe it's called. Read the back carefully, but I think it'll take latex paint off without damaging the car's finish. Don't hold me to that, though.

you are absolutely right...don't use nail polish....use rubbing alcohol instead...i tried it on my car...it kinda work...but i have to rub real hard.....and use alot of it......so yea....i am still hoping claybar will do the trick, when i have time i'll go get some and see how it turn out....

how much and what brand should i get (claybar)?

 

goo gone don't do jack...i tried that, and it's worst than my rubbing alcohol...and plus goo gone is only use for removing "goos" i used it to remove sticky tape marks (expired tapes...yes i used expired tapes...) on my window after Rita, works wonder... but as for paint...no don't anything cept making your car smells good with that citrus smell
