Default Hi Flow Catalytic Converters

Has anyone replaced their Catalytic Converters with a high flow version?

I am just wondering if a complete exhaust (Headers, Cat, Cat Back Exhaust) would be worth the effort. I am probably thinking out loud, as I am not sure what would void the warranty, and I will probably not do anything that will, but you never know.

If you put the header on their the dealer will probably give you ____ and tell you that your warranty is gone, in most cases it does, and changing the cat with a high flow and full cat back might be borderline. however from your cat you can do anything you want and it wont affect your warranty at all. but if something does happens and all else fails just put your stock ____ back on and im pretty sure they wont say ne thing

Changing the cat is way more of a warranty killer than changing header .

yea what hotbox said. hes a smart fellow and knows what hes talking about. ^

the header will be childs play in terms of warrantying (whoa is that a word) compared to a high flow cat. plus, for the smog legal states, you gotta be more careful about cats and stuff (even though headers will sometimes be messing you up. ) if you have any quams about throwing away warranty a cat might not be the best choice for you

You can do what ever you want just put it back to stock when u take it to the dealer to get fixed. umm and BTW hi flow cats are a waste of money. They were usefull back in the 80's when the cats actually prohibited air flow. nowadays stock cats are just effeincent as hi flow cats thus changing it = very little power gain or no gain at all.

Forget the warranty.... changing a perfectly good cat can be illegal in some states. I think the mileage has to reach at least 50k before a shop can even sell you a "new" cat. At least in California. That's what I heard.

And like posted above, the cats these days aren't that restrictive. You won't gain much anyway.
