Default High idle at startup?

I got an oil change the other day at midas and I always try and go through everything I can to make sure they did not screw anything up and I don't know if it is just me but my xB seems to idle higher than normal, goes to about 1700-1900rpm at startup and I am not sure if its just because its getting really cold here in MA or if I should have it looked at.

no that is perfectly normal... most toyota's (i have more than one at home) idle that high. sometimes at 2 RPM. but it doesnt stay there too long. it drops rather quickly though.

i say your save.

not a problem at all. all cars do that, even if it isn't cold. it idle a little higher then normal so it can get to normal operating temperature faster. the rpm should drop within a few minutes of startup. no biggie
