I just bought my new Xb from a private party and the guy i bought it from said he put a performance chip in it Im assuming its probably one of those pieces of junk on ebay and I want to remove it. I dont want to call the previous owncer but since i did not install it so i dont know where to look for it so i can take it out and if i do find it i dont know how to go about taking it out without screwing up the car please help

Well taking out the performance chip won't do you much good if you don't have the original chip. I could be wrong but taking out the performance chip and not having the original would make your car into a paperweight

 

There is no original chip. The ebay chips are just cheap resistors you can grab radio shack.

I haven't seen one installed before, but from what I've read, it plugs in to the MAF sensor in the intake housing. Hopefully someone with more experience can elaborate more on this :D

p.s. Taking it out will NOT disable your car.
