Default How do I change the brake light bulb on Scion xA?

My brake light bulb went out, and I've been unsuccessfully trying to change it. According to the manual it's the middle one in the assembly. The top and bottom bulbs just twist out easily, but the middle one is a different shape, and won't come out, and won't twist. What's the trick to getting it out? I did disconnect the wires going into it before messing with it

Default Did the pliers work out for you?

I am having the same dificulty... I was going to try the pliers anyway, but thought I'd ask first before I go in and start yanking at things.

Tried changing out my brake light bulb today..why the eff is it so hard to remove it?!
Couldn't they just make it the same as the other two bulbs??

I'll try the pliers, but I'm a little hesitant about that..

Edit: Nevermind, I just took an adjustable wrench to it and it popped right out! All that fuss for nothing lol.
