Default I accidentally put paint on my paint

well i spent most of this afternoon detailing my car. Then when i went to put it in the garage I accidentally scraped the front bumper on the side of the garage. Now there is an ugly white streak on my flint mica tc. How can i get this off?

clay will take it off.

if not, a chemical cleaner like meguiar's deep crystal 1 on a foam applicator will work... it will just take a LONG time to work

A picture would be helpful, but most likely you will need to use a rubbing compound.

Yes--a judicious dose of rubbing compound should take right off.......

no, anyone on autopia would recommend clay first.

I'm also on Autopia, but I haven't been on there nearly as long as Neothin has.

Besides, if there's a way to fix your paint without removing it, then use it. I don't see the need for a rubbing compound and having to remove clear when you can do it much easier without having to remove any clear coat.

I've been able to get paint transfer off with regular wax before. I'd suggest starting there because it has the least possibility of damaging the paint and you probably already have some so you don't have to spend any money up front. If it doesn't work, you've only lost a few minutes and you can move on to the other suggestions.

Start by trying WD-40. If that doesn't work then try some 90% rubbing alcohol. Then try carb cleaner as a last resort then follow up with your favorite wax.
