I have a question
I was just wondering if you can just buy a new air filter for a cold air instead of cleaning it or whatever? and if so, should I go to the company or just buy one that fits?

However, it's more economical to just use the K&N filter cleaner vs. buying a new air filter.

That will get pretty costly! Why would you wanna do that though? It takes 5 minutes to clean a filter! U might as well just keep your stock airfilter on if you plan on getting a new one everytime.

Fear of the unknown. I can kinda understand that. I'm often hesitant doing something new for the very first time just blindly following written instructions.
Does a new filter come pre-oiled or do you have to oil it too?
Perhaps there's another Scion peep in your region that has done it and could help get you started? Just a thought...

just get the filter cleaning kit cause those will work just fine...if you keep buying new filters its just going to be a waste now if like after several times you've cleaned it and it looks all ragedy or whatever then i guess a new one will have to suffice but if not just clean the damn thing

Basically (on my K&N)
1)take filter off
2)spray cleaning agent on
3)let sit for 10-20 min
4)rinse, rinse, rinse
5)let dry (30min)
6)spray filtering oil
7)let dry (30 min)
put filter back on
easy as that, I'm sure you could do it faster, but I take my time. the cleaning kit wil be good for 3-5 cleanings. For $12, you get to use the same filter 4 times, instead of $200 on 4 new filters.
Yes, they do come preoiled (they should be in a plastic bag thing)
