1. Turn the ignition key to the "OFF" position with the odometer reading shown.

2. Turn the ignition key to the "ON" position while holding down the trip meter reset ****. Hold it for at least 5 seconds. The light gose off, and the display shows zero for 1 second and chanes to the odometer reading.

So in Stuped turms befor turning the car the the on posetion push the botton on the dash in and hold it down the turn the car to the on position... (don't turn the car on..) thats it.

hope this helps......

Its exactly waht the car manual says to do..... so if any one says other wise i would not bolive them..

Check your gas cap. If you don't have it screwed on tight enough, or if it's not straight, the light comes on. This happened to me.

Also, the light is scheduled to come on every 5000 miles because that's the regularity with which you are supposed to change the oil. So whenever you cross 5, 10, 15, etc., it will come on.

The Check Engine light came on when I did that. It took it a few days to reset itself.

It's important to reset it yourself when you get your oil change, at it seems to off 5K after reset. But the above description to reset it works perfectly.

When you take your car to the dealer to have the oil changed they should reset it for you.
