Mobil's New Line of Motor Oil
Mobil's new line of Motor Oil will be hitting stores VERY VERY soon. You should already be able to buy the new line in Pep Boys and places like that.
The new line constist of
Mobil Clean 5000 (Conventional)
Mobil Clean 7500 (Synthetic Blend)
Mobil 1 (Synthetic)
Mobil 1 15000 Extended Performance (Synthetic)
The different numbers 5000, 7500 & 15000 are the miles of oil change intervils. Mobil is GAURENTEEING that you can go 15,000 inbetween oil changes (as long as you have no oil leaking problems or major engine problems) with the Mobil 1 Extended Performance Oil. The only way the Oil will last 15,000 is you will have to use a TOP of the line Oil Filter such as the Mobil 1 oil filter. The Mobil 1 oil filter part number for Scions xB/xA is M-103.
If you wanna read more about this new oil or you want more info please read here:
http://www2.exxonmobil.com/Corporate..._nr_150205.asp
or here

ALSO if you have any questions on this you can post here or PM me ... I work for an ExxonMobil Oil Distrubtor thats how I know all this stuff!

Re: Mobil's New Line of Motor Oil
It's a shame that ExxonMobil is even more evil than other oil companies. I've refused to make any ExxonMobil purchases for the past two years due to their reversal of discrimination policies upon Exxon's merger with Mobil. Oh well.

I don't have prices for you, because I am a distributor and can't give you my price. Check with your local auto supply store for price. The filter number is M-103 for xA/xB ... Ill find out the part number for the tC tomorrow (tuesday)

i remember reading somewhere that conventional motor oil can go up 12000 miles before it breaks down. i'd like to know what kind of oil they use in bmw's and mercedes, they go long intervals before they need the oil changed.
i'll stick with changing it every 5000

Basically, Mobil had policies banning discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation. They also gave health benefits to a person's domestic partner. When Exxon took them over, they rescinded the discrimination policy and gave no further partner benefits.
NYC's pension fund is even taking issues with this, as they are a large shareholder in ExxonMobil: http://www.comptroller.nyc.gov/press...04-05-036.shtm
I think Mobil does make good products, but I don't really like how Exxon's running the place.

Mercedes Benz Factory filled with Mobil 1 0w40
Corvettes & Vipers comes factory filled Mobil 1 5w30
Prosche comes factory filled Mobil 1 0w40
Cadillac comes factory filled Mobil 1 5w30.
Saab factory filled Mobil Drive Clean Plus (Synthetic Blend) 5w30
Note: Drive Clean Plus is now replaced with Clean 7500
Hondas OEM 5w20 Motor Oil & ATF is made by Mobil to meet Honda Spec
Toyotas OEM 5w30 Motor Oil & ATF is made by Mobil to meet Toyota Spec
General Motors OEM 5w30, 10w30 & ATF is made by Mobil to meet GM Spec
Mazda OEM 5w20 Motor Oil is made by Mobil to meet Mazda Spec
You will need a high quality oil filter in order for it to last 15,000 miles. Mobil reccommends using their Mobil 1 Oil Filter for this change. Your basic cheap oil filters with break down after about 3-4k. The paper inside the filer will collapse and the filter will not filter anymore. With the Mobil 1 filters they are made using a high quality stronger paper and will be able to last the 15,000 miles.

thanks for the info frosted.... thats not a very cool stance to take on exxons part.. ill stick with my redline oil then.. its about twice as expensive then mobil 1 but when someone is doing something wrong.. you have to make a stand... i do the same with microsoft.. i really don;t touch their stuff...
anyways.. im planning to change to synth at 1000 miles.(when the car finally arrives.
i did that on my present car and at 235k miles has had NO leaks what so ever.. and unless scion will use synths witht eh free oil changes.. ill probably not take them up on it..

Im telling anyone how to take care of your car, I am just informing you on what is out and what you are able to do if you chose.
My old Honda had 45K on it when I sold it ... I did 4 oil changes. First one with Mobil 1 Synthetic at 2,000 and then every 10,000 miles give or take with Mobil 1 Oil and Mobile 1 Oil filter. I have NO problems and the car ran GREAT!
My dad has an LX470 and he changes his oil every 15,000 using Mobil 1 Synthetic and Mobil 1 Oil Filter. Runs GREAT NO Problems. The truck has 80,000 miles on it.
