Default My xA has spots!

Hey folks,
I just finished washing (via Mr. Clean Autodry) and waxing (via Meguiar's NXT Tech Wax). My xA looks mighty fine...but I noticed little black/brown/orange dots on the front bumper and rear bumper. They look like rust spots in the paint. Rubbing helped, but it didn't take them off. Anyone know how to get rid of them? I'm guessing they came from the rain water... Help! :D

Thanks

I've got them on my echo as well. They look like little surface rust sposts on the paint. Toyota's new paint mix seems ____ poor to me, doesn't resist chipping like older paint, and seems to be of generally poor quality. I used Scratch-X and it worked quite well.

I have no idea what that is, but I've seen it and know what to do. Use a heat gun. Strange I know, but it works. Heat it up and they disappear. just don't heat it up so much that you burn the paint.

That is industrial fallout....use the clay bar. It removes everything and will not scratch your paint.

I went to the dealer today to get my oil changed. The service guy liked my painted engine cover (though the mechnic scratched it..*$&*%*) and ground wires. I asked him about the spots and he told me to talk to my saleswoman to tell her to take it to the detailer. I went to the detailer and he said he'd fix it. He didn't fix all of them, though. I bought some scratch-x...I'll return it and get a meguiars claybar kit...

Thanks

I'm tellin' ya... try some heat first. I know it sounds stupid, but try it before you get too out of hand. The dealer isn't going to use a clay bar but will use a rubbing compound.

I used a hairdryer and it got the black pieces off (rusty brown under it, though). I didn't get to all of them though. There are a lot of them and the little black/brown specks started to hurt my chinky eyes with the bright white background. I bought Mothers Clay Bar kit and that didn't work (waste of 15 bucks..oh well, could use it later). Scratch X got the brown rust specks out...but not without the elbow grease of 10 men... I just re-waxed my car...I'm wondering if I can just get my car "detailed" at a shop...I mean, I've never got my car detailed..and I'm sure there's a specialist out there...When I stroke the paint on my car...I can feel little bumps! Also, there seems to be touch up paint specialists too...

I live in a snowy area. I get these rust spots during the winter. I have been told that small specs of metal that come off the plows kick up and stick to the car with all the other road grim. Add a little road salt and you have rust spots. This is probably one of many explanations for these spots. I just get rid of them when I wax. It takes a little elbow grease or you could use a clay stick.
