Default need help improving horsepower

I have a 2006 scion tc. I just got a bonus pay from the marines of 1500 and i intend on improving my tc, and ive been looking up some parts for the tc, but there is so many of them. If anybody can recommend what kind of parts to get and what brand to increase HP that would be great Thank you!

Hey there Lance Corporal. I would recommend looking at the Scion tC 1G Drivetrain & Power under the tC1 Owners Lounge. There is stickies for Intake and Exhaust Buyer's Guide. Here are the links for the:

1.)Intake(https://www.scionlife.com/forums/scion-tc-1g-drivetrain-power-1637/buyers-guide-scion-tc-intakes-55693/)

and

2.)Exhaust(https://www.scionlife.com/forums/scion-tc-1g-drivetrain-power-1637/buyers-guide-scion-tc-exhaust-55690/)

I'll admit, most I've done to my car is just a drop-in K&N Air Filter and a Greddy Front Strut Bar. But asking what are the recommend parts and brand to increase HP is like asking what food is the best. There's a lot of flavors and it depends on what kind of power are you looking for? I'm not much of a garage mechanic. Most of my wrench time is working as a wheeled-vehicle mechanic in the U.S. Army (mainly Humvees, Deuce and a half, and the LMTV and MTV family).

Have to do the research on what parts you want. Like the different degree of cams, such as the 262 or 268, (someone correct me on this if I'm wrong as I'm still learning from friends hands-on) can affect the low end torque or the mid-range torque. I thought sending you those links can get you started as I am very limited on my mods knowledge. Sorry if I can't be much help to you. Thanks for you service in the Marines. Don't forget to browse the forums and use the search tool. Personally I like Greddy and HKS.
