You're kidding, RIGHT? I think you are. . . but I don't know why I'm not so certain. I think we all know (or seriously HOPE) that you were joking, but in case you weren't, you should check where that intake pipe leads. . . yup, that's a filter down there!

Yes, but stock or not you still need an air filter, stock or not. . . and you just said

No personal attack on you, but I really wasn't sure if you knew. . . you were the original person asking about washing a filter.

And (because I guess your not incompetent) I wouldn't have to recommend you not to do any DIY maintainence. You see, had you not known, then you would have been the type of person who could do serious damage to a vehicle and void a warrantee. Here at SL, we like to look out for everyone. . . even newbies. And if you didn't know not to wet an air filter and that a CAI still had a filter, then it would be in your best interest to leave the maintainence to a mechanic.

But you do know, so it's all good. BTW, be careful about flashing the emoticon. You're super lucky for not getting flamed like crazy for your question. I'm playing nice. As you know, it's a REALLY REALLY REALLY bad idea to wash your OEM filter.

when it appears dirty. just open your airbox up, take a look at the filter, if it appears to be dirty, change it out (filters are only about $5.00 for the oem replacement).
