prob with my xa
So I went out cruising in the ol' xA today and when I pulled into my driveway, I noticed my passenger side floor mat was soaked with water (or some clear liquid, didnt have any smell) and actually had a puddle. There is absolutely no chance anything was spilled in my car. It seems the water was coming from under the mat up thru the floor of my car. Of course, the service dept isn't open today. Anybody know whats wrong with my ride?
thanks

Has it been raining? Maybe you have a body, window or windshield leak.
Try sucking up some of the fluid with a dropper and put it a clear glass.
What color is it? Smell? Is it engine coolant? Plain old dirty water?

Ok went out and used a dropper. It has no noticeable smell and is clear.
It has not rained. It seems that it has came from under the carpet on the floor. The very top of the mat was completely dry.
thanks

Was your AC on? Did you run it at all?
I have noticed that our AC leak allot of water..could it be this???
I know that in the XB on the passenger side underneath the scuffle board the hosing for the windshield fluid for the back window runs. Can it be that maybe it broke??
Just my 2 cents

Most likely, living in alabama and all. Theres a drain tube under the evaporator (heater core thingy) in your air conditioning system. I'd expect that if it were very humid out that the condensation on the unit was more than the drain could get out of there, it may also be plugged or kinked, although not really likely. Its actually a pretty common problem with car AC.
One thing I'd recommend doing is to run AC in recirculate mode only (especially in humid climates), so its only having to take the moisture out of the air in your car, and not the town, as is the case drawing fresh air in. Also near the end of your drive, turn the AC off and run the fan so that if there is moisture in/on the core coils, that it has time to re-absorb into the air so that the next time you turn it on, that its not already full of water. In the long run, that will also put off the swamp-___ smell that air conditioners get that are repeatedly shut off full of water and have mildew growing on them.

I just talked to one our guys in the shop who was working on an xB that had a lot of water inside the car and found the problem turned out to be the drain hose for the AC. It's a black hose at the bottom of the evaporator and goes through the firewall. Somehow, the hose was still inside the car and the moisture collected in the bottom of the evaporator. Hope this helps!
