Problem W/Injen cold air intake
My 05 XB ran fine after installing it. But 1 day after the check engine light came on. Also the VSC & tracking control lights are on. Can anyone Help me out. OH my XB has only 780 miles on it. Thanks Nick
Re-check all of your work and disconnect the negative battery terminal for a while (like 5 minutes) the light should go off...the reason is beacuse you need to reset your MAF (Mass Airflow Sensor). If the problem persists read through all of the directions. And if it still happens, you might have to take it to the dealer.

Also, once you disconnect the negative cable, and reconnect, let the engine IDLE for at least 15 minutes. The idling will help the MAF reset and the engine light shouldn't come on again. Just let it idle, don't give it any gas, just idle for 15 minutes.
When I installed the Injen CAI in my Matrix this was mentioned in the instructions, but the instructions for the xB didn't include it.
I let mine idle for 15 minutes and have not had any problems and I'm just under 29k miles.

You may have fixed the problem if the idle is remaining constant. If it is, your light most likely needs to be reset so try this https://www.scionlife.com/tech/elect...ance_light.php, I know it is for the maintneance light, but it is worth a shot. Your car is coding (displaying lights) becase one of the sensors was/is disrupted. If the problem persists disconnect the battery for a longer period of time, and carefully take a look at everything that you have placed: Is the MAF connected corrctly? Is the heater hose atached to the right place? Are all of the hose clamps secure and not leaking air? Is the air filter element (the cone) attached tightly and securly, and not leaking air? Is the filter disrupted by fog lights that may have pushed it oput of place? Check for al of these problems and then try to reset your lights. Good luck, and let us know if the problem is still occuring... :?
If this doesn't work, you may need to take it to the dealer or a shop you trust to fix the problem. Best of Luck... :D

It is at a constant idle around 500 & sounds like it is going to stall but wont. Also i can only drive 60mph & shift at 3 thousand rpms cause if just bounces off the rev limiter. Is that caused buy the codes?
Sounds like vacuum leaks, tighten all the clamps around the thottle body, tighten them till the sucking sounds diappears, you can also get some soapy water to put around the rubber connection, it should just sit there, it should not be sucked in, the only sucking should be from the air filter. Bill

I had to put a new MAF sensor in it. It worked for 4 hours after installing it. Now it does the same thing. I have switched back to the stock air box now. But still having the same problem.
is it possible that this might have saved your MAF sensors? Or is this only for the short ram applications?

I had to pay the service fee. that was $86.00 Then the sensor was $140 So i got one and put it on my self that on did not last long at all either may be about 1 hr of driving time. Now i have the AEM CAI on runns great but not as loud as the injen
did you get the cai with the inline filter defuser? i had the same problem. you need to install the filter inbetween the hose that conects to the motor and the intake . near the throttle body to catch the oil vapors. The techs at injen shooled me on this they sell the filter for 8.00 ive seen the aem and it mounts the hose in the same place its almost identical. in fact if you bought the aem bypass valve for 38.00 it would be exact but i havent heard anyone complain about this problem wit the aem???????????????? i replace the air flow meter at the dealer they did it for free it was under warranty, i love my dealer
i tried pepboys for a inline filter defuser or something close to it they suggested a breather filter they come in different sizes and colors and even have a chrome heat sheild. oh yeah they said to cap off the intake side . i guess thats what most honda accords have to have
Hey guys, most of the time when the MAF gets a film of oil on it and reads out of range it can be cleaned off with a shot of contact cleaner and will function just fine after that. Devise a way to keep the oil off of it and it should be fine.
