Question about maintenance package
I bought a TC recently, and got a service maintenance package for $900, which will cover all services for my car for 4 yrs or up to 55K miles whichever comes first. I can cancel the package and get the money back, since I am not sure if it;s worth it. I have never had a car before, so I can't do any maintenance by myself. So should I cancel it or not? Thanks a lot.
If or since you can't do maintenance yourself then 900 over 4 years is not a real bad deal, IF, that covers all the routine scheduled maintenance. I would go back and sit down with the service manager and have him/her detail exactly what is and is not covered.

^^^ What he said.
I was mislead into beliving the service package I got for my
xB was for the 5 years of the auto loan. So when I calculated
out the $515 over 5 years, it made sense. When I found out
all it covered was oil changes and "inspection" and only up
till 30,000, I promptly returned it. Honestly, $40 an oil change?
I've since switched to Mobile 1, I use TRD or Mobile 1 oil
filters, and it's only costing me $33 an oil change, and a trip
to Jiffy Lube to recycle my used oil.
But I'm confident in my abilities to change oil and inspect
boots and look for leaks...

Thanks a lot for your advice.
Maintenance package covers all scheduled services for 4 yrs or 55K miles, it's every 5K miles. The big services are for 15, 30 and 45 K miles, all others is simply an oil change and brakes inspection. I've heard that most of the things on big maintenance services (15,30 and 45K miles) I don't need at all. I still can cancel this package, but the service manager told me that I might void my warranty if i do so. Is it worth it or not?

Do the numbers. At 5k intervals, you will get 11 maintenance visits. 900.00 divided by 11 equals 82.00 per visit. My dealer prominently displaby the costs of each scheduled visit. As you mentioned the 5k visits are oil/filter changes. The 15k visits involve more and are higher priced. My dealer prices run from 49.00 to 189.00 to 360.00 (5K, 15K, and 30k). If you follow this pattern you can easily get over 1100 in charges through 55k, so your 900 price is a discount. You need to factor two PRIMARY factors into your situation; one, you don't do maintenance so you have to pay someone else, and two, will you keep the car for at least 55k? If yes, it's a no brainer.
As for voiding the warranty if you cancel the policy, tell him for me that he is an idiot and the kind that don't belong in the business. He needs to be selling used cars at an abandoned gas station!!
