Default question for tc owners.

Hello all, I have an 07 Scion TC. I've got about 4,000 miles on it already, and I canalready tell a difference in the way it drives. The rpms seem to kick harder than what they used to when I first drove the car. Also, when I start it in the morning in the cold weather and drive it, the engine seems really shaky like it's falling apart. Also, it seems like it's bogging down. I have to push down the gas pedal more than I did when I first got it. And when I sometimes drive down hills, i'll be holding down the brake gently and then all of a sudden it revs up to about 2600 rpm and not shift down. It's going in tomorrow to be tested, but does anyone have any ideas on what the problem could be?

A small ticking (and I assume this is what you have) is completely normal and can be heard on nearly every car... I believe its just the metals contracting/expanding, and fluids dripping and stuff. Nothing to worry about

Yeah, my car sounds like crap and is hesitant when I first start it up when it is chilly, exp. when it has been sitting overnight. Warming it up for a few mins and driving a little makes it go away. I think it is a common issue, nothing to worry about unless its getting worse and worse then take it to the dealer.

that ticking is probably the heat shield on your cat.

You can always take it to the dealership and tell them the problems and see if they have any ideas or can take a look at it.

everything you just mentioned sounds normal.

going downhill.. hitting brake.. engine revving... downhill shift logic that the automatic ecu does.

ticking... normal. vsv. ticks like that for it's idling reasons.

normal, normal, normal.... and yes.. search?
