Default Re-sticking old emblems?

Anyone know how to re-stick emblems back on? I have a couple of used Toyota emblems that have lost the original back tape~ I'd rather not pay 30 bucks for a new emblem.

So are there any products out there that can re-stick it back onto the paint?

What type of tape? I'm pretty sure that 3M makes more than one type of tape. Besides, with tape I probably need to cut it up which might be a little bit difficult since I need to cut it very precisely to match the Toyota shape.

I'm looking for something along the line of a glue or epoxy. I need something that won't harden up but will stick well.

get 3M double sided foam tape, but REAL thin, like 1/16 - 1/8th of an inch. get all the adhesive off the back of the emblem first with goo-gone or anything like that. you can use a sharp x-acto knife to cut off the excess. itll probably cut through it fairly easy so be careful. glue or epoxy is messy and mot adhesives like that ar emade to be permanent. hope this helps

3m double stick tape, a #11 x-acto blade, some 3M adhesive remover, and a few rags and you are all set.

That's how we remounted Jason's (Crush_xB) emblems.

Looks like I'll have to break out the crafting kit

Thanks for the info guys! I'll head over to home depot later to get the stuff. I doubt the auto store near here carries these kind of things..

Not really in a rush to do it. It's just on the list of many mods I need to do before summer :D

there is something called mounting tape that i purchased a few years back. great stuff. made of rubber instead of foam. i think it is the same as servo tape if you are familiar w/ r/c cars.

There is the 3M Plastic Emblem and Trim Adhesive tube. Remove any adhesive on the emblem and use this. Since the adhesive comes from the tube, you dont have to make precises cuts from mounting tape. Found at your local Ace, Home Depot, Autozone, Walmart, etc.

I have everything you need to do it. We just need to get together to do it. I try to come into the Bay Area at least once a week.
