I dunno, I've never heard an engine knock ever ever (aside from my previa, which knocked when it was cold in the winter, or at least sounded like it was knocking). So I guess I really have.

I find that the octane matters exactly zero. The quality of the gas does; if I gun my engine and roar off somewhere, and then come to a stop, the infamous Stink comes over my car from behind. Supposedly 'good gas' fixes this, but how the hell do I know if it's 'good'? Buy gas at every single different gas station over a year in my area, and make a spreadsheet? Blaah.

People are so freaking OCD about their cars and what kind of gas/oil/wax (okay, I can see wax), transmission fluid (!!), brake fluid (oh come on), clutch fluid (ugh, you use brake fluid) etc go into it.

You can tell when you're out of blinker fluid when your turn signals flash quickly. I see a lot of modded Honda's that appear to be running low...

it could mean they need to get their muffler bearings repacked though.

Diesel is right...higher octane doesnt do anything. It's only if the motor requires the octane to perform

welllll, the xB (and I assume the xA and tC) have a hydraulic clutch, and I saw a post where someone said you have to check the level of the fluid for it every once and a while.

I just looked for a possible resevoir so I think they were just pulling me leg, since I just saw steering/brake/wiper/coolant.

NM, CO, and UT are all states that I've lived in...and they all have 85 tractor ____ gas at the pumps. What car actually takes 85 octane? Seriously!?!
I buy "midgrade" here in UT and it's 88 octane.
