Default Removing water spots

So I got my car from the dealer and told them not to bother washing it since I was just going to when I got home anyway... well turns out there are some pretty hefty water spots all over the glass surfaces. I went at them wish car wash soap and windex with microfiber cloths and newprint and they just won't go away...

So I am keep hearing people recommend spot x but I would prefer not to use something abrasive up front on my new glass so are there any recommendations?

Also does windex strip sealant? I know it will do a number on wax, but I am using Klasse AIO and it clames to be acrylic so I would think it should be ok...

The place I got my windows tinted from has a product they gave me that works incredibly well on removing water spots from windows. You might try checking with a window tint shop, or I can find out when I get home tonight the name of it. It works like magic.

I would recomend getting your car in the shade and turn the AC on and put in on the front window. Then buy a can of "invisible glass" and take 1 micro fiber towel to clean and the other to dry. Spray plenty of the cleaner on your window and let it soak in for about 15 seconds then clean and dry.

I recommend the can because it foams better and works better imo. If you try to clean your glass in the sun usually your window will evaporate the water or cleaner because it's so hot. This happens to me to. I just get her in the shade and get the glass nice and cool and it works great.

Good luck

half water half vinegar mix...its stinky, but works on light water spots. Try it out before you drop some change on a real cleaning product.

^^ I second that, if that doesn't quite do it, use striaight vinegar and then wash your car. That should work...

My 2 cents

Yeah we have kragen and I think Checker but I haven't seen a Checker in a long time...

Well I go some of the Invisible Glass in a can (didn't have any vinegar and it actually cost almost as much as a can of glass cleaner...) sprayed it on, let it sit about 15 seconds and gave it some wiping off. Tried both microfiber and newsprint, the situation improved marginally but even after 4 applications it was far from where I waanted it to be.

One thing I noticed originally when I worked on this issue on my windows was that my "lint free" microfiber cloth was leaving lint all over and it was being very hard to clean the windows as it felt like dragging rubber on glass (not the normal super silky microfiber feel).

Well what I realized is that the microfiber is tearing off as it goes over the dirt and water spots on my car... and if I put a LOT of elbow grease into it, the microfiber cloths eventually get rid of most if not all of the water spots...

So later today comes some car washing and some hours of back breaking microfiber scrubbing... Wish I had a buffer to attach the cloth to as I bet that would do the trick ASAP.

We'll see and I still appreciate all the advice given!

Ack....

Literally like 4 hours of back breaking scrubbing with microfiber clothes and glass cleaner and the windows look great now.... until the light catches it at the right angle... then bam, you can see faint outlines of all of them again.

I am wondering if they have etched into the glass, but I would like to think that's unlikely as the car is brand new 09 so even if that was hard water it hasn't had long to sit in the sun.

I am thinking of going back to the dealership and asking how they would clean these off...
