Default Smashed up rim

On the drive home today I hit a huge pothole. There were 10-15 cars with flats in the next mile of road! I thought I was lucky till I got home and looked. Lost my front wheel cover and have a huge dent in my wheel Can just 1 wheel cover be purchased from the dealers?

write the DOT and report that pothole immediately! you may be entitled to some $$$ to cover the repair. BTW you can get individual wheel covers, but they are around $50-$60 each.

Yes, but they are expensive. You can buy a whole set of after markets for half the price and be a little different than the other cap-riders... OR

I would post up a WTB in the private party classifieds here on SL. I'll bet someone has bought some rims and has an extra cap.

What style was it?

I have a set of 9 spoke hubcaps I just took off my car when I bought wheels.

One has slight scuffing ever since I bought it, used them for 1500 miles.

PM me if you're interested in them...

Sorry 'bout the pothole.

one of my coworkers hit a pothole and bent a wheel pretty bad. he actually took pictures of the wheel and the pothole and street where he messed it up. He sent them to the city with a complaint letter. to my surprise, they actually sent him a check for the cost to replace the wheel. i don't know if you want to go through the trouble, but it's worth a shot. he got like $500 out of it.
