Spark Plug Boot not bolted down
So I was having some issues with a rough idle and the engine was misfiring in cylinder 2 and 4. I'm assuming it was about 70,000 miles since the Spark Plugs have been changed. The previous owner would've been the one to do them.
Well it fixed my rough idle and engine misfiring. The problem is though when I was taking the boots out I noticed one Coil On Plug wasn't bolted down and the bolt broken off inside the hole. Will this COP not being bolted down cause a huge issue? (Not sure if this should be in Maintenance and Car Care or not.) |
considering it's what holds the "boot" on the plug, seems like it could be a problem. You're just relying on the rubber to hold it on.
I must point out to you young bucks what a great system this is - we used to have to replace plug wires because the high voltage wore them out. And I won't even start on timing & points! |
